Our Top 10 Travel Highlights From 2016
Can you believe we're almost at the end of 2016? We say this every year, but time just flies by so fast! We did a good amount of traveling this year and wanted to share with you our favorite travel destinations of 2016. From Iceland to California to Indiana, each location had something fun and unique to offer.
1 | Iceland
Iceland will forever be our favorite country. The landscapes are out of this world and we enjoyed the remote areas the most. Plus, the Northern Lights were absolutely stunning.
2 | Aruba
Absolutely loved everything about Aruba. The beautiful beaches, stunning resorts, friendly locals and interesting history has made this place our favorite Caribbean island. It's a true tropical paradise.
3 | California Road Trip
We love road trips and had a great time, as expected, on our California road trip. We took a different route than the usual Cali road trip along the coast and so glad we did! We loved every stop we made at Wolf Mountain Sanctuary, Lake Arrowhead, Manzanar, Lone Pine and Sequoia National Park.
4 | Indiana
Probably the most unique visit in the US this year. Experiencing the Amish culture was both intriguing and humbling. Everyone in the community was friendly and had a great sense of humor. Plus, the food was delicious!
5 | Sacramento
We were surprised at how much we loved Sacramento. Our good friend showed us around the city and we really enjoyed the hip bars, restaurants and the state capital.
6 | San Antonio
The Riverwalk is a beautiful area with lively bars, restaurants and shops. The river tour and brunch at La Carnias were amazing.
7 | Denver
Colorado is a gorgeous state with lots to do in the mountains, but we wanted to check out the city this time. Theres’s tons of good stuff in this Mile High City.
8 | Sarasota
Siesta Key Beach has been named the #1 beach in the nation for the past several years and we can see why. Sparkling, clear blue water with fine quartz sand for miles. Ringing Museum of Art was another gem we found in Sarasota. We had so much fun that we shut the place down!
9 | Disney Springs
Anything Disney makes us happy and Disney Springs is no exception. Formerly known as Downtown Disney in Florida, the newly renovated shopping, dining and entertainment area is full of good eats and cute Disney items.
10 | Dunedin and Honey Moon Island
Dunedin is a charming town with cute shops, bars and restaurants. It’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Florida sun.
We can't wait to see what's in store for us in 2017. What were your favorite travel highlights this year? Let us know in the comments below!
