The Coolest Arcade Center in the World is at Kawasaki Warehouse Japan

Japan has always been known for their awesome arcade centers, but they outdid themselves with this arcade center located in Kawasaki called Anata no Warehouse meaning “Your Warehouse”. This arcade center will probably be the coolest thing you’ve ever seen.

Kawasaki is a quick 30-minute train ride from Tokyo on the Keihintohoku Line or the Tokaido Line. Once you arrive at the station, it’s an easy 10-minute walk to Anata no Warehouse. Once you see the building, you’ll be amazed because it’s the only building that looks run down and it’s a huge contrast to the rest of the modern buildings surrounding it. I was getting really excited to check this place out.

Entrance into the arcade center
When you get to the entrance, you go through the first set of doors, which automatically open, and then another set of doors open. It felt as though we were entering a haunted house. It was a little freaky, but also thrilling to see what was inside. The inside is designed to look like the run-down streets of Kowloon Walled City in Hong Kong. This city used to be controlled by organized crime organizations which had high rates of prostitution, drug use and gambling. The city grew out to be increasingly intolerable and had to be demolished in 1993.
First floor of the arcade with some tables, chairs and retro games
You walk through a dark corridor like you’re in a shady alley with grimy walls and sketchy ads and come upon an open area with old buildings and homes like you’re in the actual city. There are fake food stations, building signs and clothes hanging from wires. The designers of this building really put great detail in the decor to make it look as authentic as possible.

I felt like I was in a video game
On the other side, there is another entrance into the arcade. It’s almost like they changed the theme a bit in this one section and made it seem like you’re in some kind of video game being challenged to cross the mysterious green water on stones and wire hand rails to get to the other side. A great spot for photo ops.

The rest of the building carries the same theme of everything looking grimy and rusty. There are a total of 8 floors and each floor has tons of games. On the top floor, you can enjoy playing ping pong and billiards.
Even if you’re not a gamer, you should definitely check this place out for the brilliant decor.
