Spreading Joy, Love and Cream Cheese at Ozark Mountain Bagel Co
We were given a complimentary meal for this post, but as always, all opinions are 100% our own.
Ozark Mountain Bagel Co. just opened in May 2017 and has already gotten rave reviews from all of their customers. While we were visiting Bentonville, Arkansas, we had to go see what the rage was all about for ourselves. We have only had store-bought bagels, so we were pretty excited to try handcrafted and freshly made water boiled bagels from Ozark Mountain Bagel.
We visited around 9:00 in the morning and were quite surprised at the crowd that had already shown up on a Saturday. This was a good sign that we were in the right place for some tasty bagels.
Ozark Mountain Bagel is a family-run business with Bill, Sheila, and their son, Tyler. They were all so welcoming and had a ton of positive energy. As soon as we walked in, Bill greeted us with such enthusiasm and began telling us how he starts the day at 3:30 AM to have the fresh bagels prepared by 6:00 AM.
The atmosphere was bright and inviting and all designed by Sheila. We enjoyed reading the various positive quotes that were written on the napkin holders on each table. It's a great way to start your morning with yummy bagels and heart-warming quotes. Throughout the space, you'll see framed photos that were taken by Tyler. His photography is beautiful and even available for purchase if you want to take one home. Check out his Instagram @iwasbornwild.
The bagel restaurant has a great breakfast and lunch menu with lots of delicious options. There were about 15-20 different kinds of bagels to choose from, each ranging from $1.25 ~ $1.50. You can also get a half dozen bagels for $7.50 if you're feeling nice and want to share some with your family or co-workers.
There are 8 different kinds of cream cheese to choose from including Jalapeno, Honey Almond and Veggie. If you want to make it a sandwich, there are plenty of different options with that as well. The sandwiches range from $3 - $7, which is a great price considering all the hard work they put into these handcrafted bagels.
I ordered the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich on Asiago Bagel and Candy had the French Toast Bagel with butter. We wanted to try one of the cream cheese flavors they offered, but also wanted to taste the bagel itself without any extra flavors. We'll just have to come back for the cream cheese next time.
Both of our bagels were the best we've ever had. You can definitely taste the freshness of the bagels and it had so much flavor. There was a bit of a crunch to them and at the same time it was super moist biting into it. Not dry and hard at all like the other bagels we're used to. I could also taste the freshness of the cheese on the Artisan Bagel, which was probably my favorite part. Candy loved my sandwich so much that she ended up eating the other half. That's saying a lot considering Candy eats like a bird. We don't know if we can ever go back to normal bagels... I think we have turned into bagel snobs!
Ozark Mountain Bagel also serves Onyx Coffee, which is Bentonville's popular local coffee. We could have eaten a dozen of their bagels, but are going to save it for our next visit so we have something to look forward to. Their slogan, "Spreading Joy, Love, and Cream Cheese" was exactly what was happening for us that morning.
We want to thank Bill, Sheila, and Tyler for welcoming us to their lovely space. We went at one of their busiest hours and yet they gladly took the time to show us around and chat with us. Their kindness and love for what they do are such a charming new addition to Bentonville's growing food scene.
