Xandari Resort and Spa in Costa Rica
When we arrived in Costa Rica, our first leg of the trip was a four-hour drive to an amazing eco luxury hotel, Rancho Pacifico, in Uvita. We stayed there for three days and on our final day, we stayed at the Xandari Resort and Spa. Since we had an early flight the next morning, we wanted to stay closer to the airport and Xandari Resort was the perfect location; only 6 miles from the airport.
Although we were close to the airport, it still felt like we were a world away. We had a gorgeous view of the city below us surrounded by lush greenery and a very spacious room and terrace.
When we arrived, the staff kindly greeted us outside and took our luggage for us. We were offered a glass of freshly squeezed mango juice and it was just what we needed after a long drive. We signed the usual hotel paperwork and were then escorted to our room. The resort was a good size with many amenities like a spa, jacuzzi, pool, art gallery, ping pong table, restaurant, hiking trails and more. We wanted to take the short trail to one of the waterfalls, but unfortunately, it started raining.
We were getting hungry, so we visited the restaurant to see what was on the menu. The server was very friendly and offered to bring the lunch to us in our room and we thought that would be a great idea since we had such a lovely view from our spacious room. We ordered our food and went to go explore the resort a little more as we waited.
The staff brought in our lunch at the time we had asked and everything was prepared and laid out so nicely. We ordered the spring rolls, chicken piccata, chicken fajita and fried fish sandwich. Everything tasted amazing and had lots of flavor. This was probably the best food we had during our stay in Costa Rica.
After dinner, we decided to take advantage of the spa's special discounts on massage treatments. The private, open-air, and palm-roofed jalapas was settled on a hill overlooking the Central Valley. The massage was very relaxing and as it was situated outside, it was extra soothing to hear the sounds of nature surrounding us.
We wish we had a little more time to spend at Xandari Resort and will definitely stay here again when we come back to Costa Rica as we enjoyed everything about this place!
