Trying to decide whether to visit Barcelona or Lisbon? Here are some pros and cons to each city that will help you decide which city is best for you!

I took an 8-day solo trip to Barcelona, Lisbon and Albufeira the first week of July and had an incredible time exploring these wonderful cities. Many friends have asked how I got around by myself and what I did on my trip, so here is a detailed itinerary of things to do and where to go if you are considering a similar trip.

Albufeira in Portugal has two main towns: Old Town and New Town. My friend and I didn’t know much about Albufeira, so we ventured out to see what these two towns were all about!

My time was pretty limited in Lisbon since I wanted to spend more time in Albufeira but I made the most of it while I was here for about 24 hours. Here are my top recommendations for things to do in Lisbon if you only have one day.

Lisbon has many free tours offered by several groups and I always wondered if they were worth joining. Since I didn’t know much about Lisbon when I arrived, I thought it was a great opportunity to find out.

Since I was visiting Lisbon, I knew I wanted to make my way down south to visit the amazing beaches of Portugal. The question was how I was going to get there. My three choices were renting a car, catching the bus or riding the train. I decided to take the train and really enjoyed my First Class experience.

This was my first time flying with TAP Air Portugal and I was a little nervous since I’ve never flown with them before and there were very mixed reviews online. I needed a roundtrip ticket from Barcelona to Lisbon and my only two options were Vueling or TAP Air Portgual. TAP Air Portugal seemed to be a bit better with their reviews so I decided to go with them.
