Galentine's Brunch at FruitCraft with Gals That Brunch Supporting the San Diego Community

We recently attended the fabulous Galentine's Brunch at FruitCraft with Gals That Brunch and had such a wonderful time. This was an event supporting local charities and boutiques such as Cinderella’s Attic, Sweetly Striped and Wild Hearts and Halos. We felt incredibly lucky to be invited to this event as we were able to meet so many inspiring women and organizations.

First, let us tell you about FruitCraft. This place is awesome. We love the vibe and the fruit wines and cocktails are unique as they ferment from various fruits such as pineapple, pomegranate and cranberry. Anything besides grapes. We have visited FruitCraft several times before and every time we visit, they are always adding something new and interesting. Their newest fermented fruit wine they're working on is going to be with guava. Yum!

The space is clean, airy and open. We love that there is room to breathe. A lot of restaurants and bars we go to lately feel so crammed and we get a bit claustrophobic at times. This place is the opposite of that. We are especially in love with the new lounge area in the back with the cute "Raise a Glass to Good" pink neon sign.

We respect that the founders and twin brothers, Alan and Brian Haghighi, are passionate about upcycling and turn their custom-made bottles into pieces of art such as light fixtures and flower pots. They also reduce fruit waste by repurposing fruit and taking those valuable sugars and fermenting them.

The Galentine's Brunch was held in FruitCraft's beautiful special event space where you can book any event such as birthday parties, bridal showers and corporate events. The event was in coordination with Gals That Brunch, which is an international movement set out to find the very best brunch destinations and meeting new gal pals. Their mission is to create a positive, authentic and empowering atmosphere where women can connect with each other and find community within their city. We had no idea that there was an organization like this and totally fell in love with this idea.

We met some beautiful and delightful ladies and enjoyed every single person we talked to. We wish would have had more time at the event because we were having so much fun learning about all the wonderful things this community is doing for those in need.

The featured charity at the event was a wonderful non-profit organization, Cinderella's Attic. Their mission is to help build confidence and self-esteem in young women by providing high school girls with free formal wear for prom and other special events. Board members, Kayla Moshki and Abby Boretto (who is Mrs. California 2018!), told us a little more about the organization and we are big supporters of what they are doing for these young girls. To support this great cause, you can help by donating formal dresses and accessories or make a financial contribution.

We also enjoyed meeting fellow traveler and fashionista, Krystal Usher, who is the founder of Wild Hearts & Halos. She creates these beautiful hand-made headbands called "halos" and she names each one after a different adventure/place/country inspired by her love to explore new places and travel the world. Every purchase gives back to help improve education and supports local artisans in Uganda. We absolutely adore these cute headbands and love that the proceeds go back to helping others. Krystal was so sweet and we were inspired by her creativity and talent.

Cheers to FruitCraft and Gals That Brunch for supporting this wonderful event. We had an amazing time with all the ladies drinking fabulous wine, meeting new friends and learning more about what we can do to help this loving community.
