My first purchase from Quince was the Linen Button Front Dress and since then, my affection for Quince has expanded. I was very pleased with the quality, fit, and price point that I ventured into their travel items.

A full review of Quince’s Weekender Bag

I signed up for Quince’s newsletters and when they introduced the Italian Leather Triple Compartment Weekender, I was immediately in love. Here’s what drew me to put the bag in my cart:

1. Functionality and Design

Functionality
The “triple compartment” feature is a feature that all weekender bags should have. Most of the weekender bags I’ve come across either lack compartments or are placed in areas that aren’t the most convenient.

The three zippered compartments are placed on the exterior with additional interior pockets, so there are MANY components to this bag. Having three exterior compartments really helps to organize my belongings so that everything isn’t thrown into one huge bag.

I also love the additional pockets on the side where I can stash a water bottle or tumbler. I didn’t even notice it was there at first because it was so well hidden within the construction of the design.

Design
Functionality is crucial, but so is the design. The bag is sleek and I adore the sophisticated color palette. The neutral tones are versatile and can be easily paired with other shades.

2. Portability and Comfort

I’ve come across different types of duffle bags for weekend travel, but duffle bags tend to have a sportier look to them. Whenever I searched for weekend bags that looked more feminine, there were plenty of options but I was never able to find one that had a trolley sleeve.

I refuse to travel with a bag that does not have a trolley sleeve, so I was ecstatic that Quince’s weekender bag had a trolley sleeve.

Comfort
Luckily, this bag also has features that make carrying the bag comfortable. I probably won’t be carrying it around for too long but when I need to, I’m happy that it’s equipped with padded handles and an adjustable shoulder strap. The strap is removable and provides multiple carrying options.

3. Material Quality

One thing that Quince does well is provide quality at an affordable price. The bag is made with 100% top-grain Italian leather which has a luxurious appearance and is often known for its longevity.

The stitching, detailing, and overall construction of the bag are very well-crafted with sturdy hardware. I especially appreciate the protective metal feet, which protect the bag from dirty surfaces.

An extra bonus is that the leather used for this bag is tanned in an LWG (Leather Working Group) certified tanner, which is a non-profit aimed to promote sustainable business practices through low energy and water usage, waste management, and the elimination of restricted substances.

4. Size and Capacity

A weekender bag should strike a balance between being spacious enough to hold your essentials for a short trip and being easy to carry. The dimensions and capacity are perfect for a two to three-day weekend trip.

The bag’s size was perfect to place on top of my carry-on suitcase and having the two zippered compartments on the exterior of the bag provided additional space.

5. Price

It’s difficult to find a quality 100% leather weekender bag under $500, so I was delighted when the price point was very affordable at $230.

Final Thoughts

This bag has been the perfect weekender bag for my summer travels this year. It’s a fantastic weekender bag and it’s also a great travel bag in addition to traveling with a suitcase.
